Kick Off the New Year with a Remedy for AI Worries
As we usher in 2025, I find myself contemplating my experiences with AI-related anxiety. For months now, I’ve been rising at 5 a.m., striving to stay updated on AI developments through newsletters and experimenting with the newest marketing technologies. However, there’s a persistent feeling of being left behind. Friends, students, and colleagues express similar concerns, from catastrophic predictions to fears of job displacement and significant lifestyle shifts.
The anxiety surrounding AI is a valid concern that needs more attention.
This year, the greatest gift I can offer myself (and my students) isn’t another AI tool or educational course. Instead, it’s the freedom to engage with AI at our own pace. The capabilities of AI models are increasing rapidly—doubling every few months—which makes it unrealistic (and unfair) to expect humans to keep up at the same speed.
Ironically, the answer to the stress of dealing with AI is AI itself. I’ve created a 30-minute self-care routine that significantly alters how I handle AI advancements. Think of it as a clarity reset for the New Year—a pathway to commence 2025 with renewed focus and assurance.
Step 1: Adopt the AI-first mindset (10 minutes)
First and foremost, let’s not carry this burden by ourselves. Similar to how we rely on meditation apps for mindfulness or fitness apps to stay active, we can also leverage AI to navigate AI challenges. My morning practice involves engaging with my preferred LLM (yes, it’s Claude) and candidly discussing my AI-related worries.
Recently, I asked: “I’m feeling overwhelmed keeping track of AI marketing tools. How can you assist me and other marketers in developing a sustainable strategy?”
What came of this was this blog post and a forthcoming guide on navigating AI overload. Claude didn’t merely provide solutions; it helped me outline a personalized framework for managing my concerns, which I’m excited to share with all of you.
Step 2: Streamline your AI news intake (10 minutes)
Think of this as a digital spring cleaning for 2025. Rather than allowing AI news to intrude into your day and clutter your inbox, it’s time to establish firm limits.
I utilize RSS.app to curate a single, streamlined email summary each morning. Tools like Feedly and Google Alerts ensure I receive only the AI news that’s relevant to me. This approach has been critical in alleviating my anxiety; mindlessly scrolling through news platforms or social media is a recipe for stress. I also recommend Sanebox.ai for filtering out unnecessary emails and sorting the important ones effectively.
Pro tip: Use your LLM to condense lengthy articles with a prompt like “key points for marketers.” It’s akin to having a reliable colleague distill the vital information.

Step 3: Leverage and combine LLM expertise (10 minutes)
This is where confusion morphs into clarity. Instead of pressuring yourself to master every emerging AI tool, consider harnessing their combined intelligence. It’s like assembling your own squad of experts rather than relying on one singular hero.
Recently, when creating a competitive analysis report, I:
- Consulted various LLMs (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, and AWS Nova) for insights.
- Evaluated their viewpoints.
- Compiled a “super-report” integrating the most valuable insights from each source.
The outcome? A more robust understanding than any one source could deliver, plus an increase in my confidence regarding the accuracy of the analysis.
